SHANE HORROCKS, M.S.

FOUNDER, CEO/LEAD NUTRITIONIST

SHANE HORROCKS, M.S.

Shane Horrocks is the founder, CEO, and consulting nutritionist of MaxRax Wildlife Nutrition, specializing in precision nutrition systems for whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, and exotic ruminants. Raised in a family deeply involved in the wildlife industry, Horrocks grew up in whitetail and exotic deer breeding operations that date back to 1995. His family's ranch managed more than 30 species of exotic ruminants over the years, providing firsthand exposure to a wide range of nutritional, reproductive, and management challenges across diverse wildlife species. This early experience helped shape a lifelong commitment to advancing managed wildlife nutrition and production.

With more than 25 years of experience in the wildlife industry, Horrocks works with breeder and hunting operations across the United States, focusing on feed formulation, digestive health, reproductive support, mineral utilization, and performance-based nutritional strategies. A graduate of Texas A&M University, Horrocks earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Master of Science degree in Ruminant Nutrition. He also conducted research with the USDA Food and Feed Safety Research Unit, where his work focused on bacterial pathogen reduction in livestock systems.

His work combines scientific research with decades of practical field experience to develop specialized nutritional programs and feed technologies designed to support herd health, reproductive performance, antler and horn development,

and long-term production efficiency in managed wildlife operations.

Today, Horrocks works directly with producers across the country, helping develop customized nutrition programs

tailored to the unique goals, resources, and management practices of each operation.
